Gold Filled and Sterling Silver

Gold-filled jewelry consists of a thick layer of gold (usually 14K) heat-bonded to a base metal (often quality jewelers brass core), comprising at least 5% gold by weight (1:20 ratio gold).  Sterling Silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals.  Gold filled offers durable, affordable luxury (lasting for years), while sterling silver is a durable, high-quality, long-lasting precious metal.
